  • 27 September 2025 – 8 November 2025: Two works of art by Louis Van Gorp are part of the exceptional exhibition Oost West, Thuis Best at Galerie NZ in Arendonk. The exhibition revolves around the concept of home and was curated by Veerle Stevens and offers an unusual mix of classical and contemporary works by artists including Antoon De Clerck, Leon De Smet, Gustave De Smet, Jozef Van Ruyssevelt and Jakob Smits. The exhibit also features a work by the painter’s wife, Mariet Lavrijsen.

  • 19 December 2022: During his career, Louis Van Gorp painted many portraits of well-known people from the political, financial and industrial worlds. As such, in 1998 he painted the portrait of director Fons Van Huffel of DVV Verzekeringen. This was commemorated at the sixtieth anniversary celebration of the insurance company.
  • 12 September 2021: At the museum of cultural heritage in his native village of Arendonk, his widow Mariet Lavrijsen inaugurated a separate section in honor of her husband. She unveiled the statue under the watchful eye of initiator Jean Huybrechts.DSC01541
  • 4 November 2020: Knack Magazine publishes an interview with journalist Pascale Mertens. Her father, General Guy Mertens, was the ‘spiritual father’ of King Filip I. In the article several picture are shown with a portrait of General Mertens in the background, painted by Louis Van Gorp.
  • 1 February 2017: The website ‘The Art of Louis Van Gorp‘ (www.louisvangorp.com)  officially launched / website van kunstenaar en kunstschilder Louis Van Gorp gelanceerd
  • 1 January 2016: vzw CLP Van Gorp is founded in Arendonk, Belgium. The founding members are:
